The course centres on an introductory exploration of how to effectively approach a performance within the plays of theatre's most seminal playwrights, culminating in a performed reading of selected texts.
The aim is to cultivate a greater understanding of how to tackle the dramatic language and communicate the action of a scene in a believable and compelling way to the full potential of the actor's own special creative talents.
The classes will be run by former Royal National Theatre Company member and Mandrake Theatre Company Artistic Director, Steven O'Shea.
Beginners to advanced levels welcome, (classes are drop in with no advance payment or prior commitment to attend all classes within the course).
Steven O’Shea began his acting career at the age of twelve and has appeared in numerous television and theatre productions both in the UK and in the USA.
He studied drama at Kingsway Princeton College in London and at The Neighborhood Group Theatre in New York City in addition to studying drama tuition at Kensington & Chelsea College in London.
Steven was co-founder, co-director and administrator for the Mandrake Theatre Company; he has over thirteen years teaching experience in addition to a wide range of experience in all aspects of drama and theatre.
